Still on the face of the planet. Somewhere.

Well hello there. Sorry for those of you who have not been seeing my posts recently. There’s a big reason for that: I just haven’t had the motivation to be posting. I don’t know why, don’t ask me. Your guess is as good as mine. But, in any case, looks like I’m back for a while. I’ve decided to take up blogging more as a hobby in my free time, maybe so I can start working out all those writing muscles that are as of yet unused in my brain. So, formally, I guess, here goes nothing: I’m back, folks. Not too sure what to be writing, because as of right now, I can barely function. My body is tired, and my mind is tired. And yet, I still manage to motivate myself to do this. There’s something to be said for dedication, devotion, etc. I don’t know what it is. In any cas.e I’ve been becoming increasingly active lately as coding and such goes, but the problem with that is, despite my activity, and my motivation, I have no goal. It’s hard to really work out something to do when all you can do is think of nothing to do. Kind of ironic isn’t it? In any case, perhaps with time I will gain more ideas for things to design, things to work out. As of yet, I’ve worked on a few simple projects. The first of which is applicable to those of you who utilize MSN messenger/WLM/whatever you want to call it. http://sirmxe.netlsd.com/emote.php will split any image you provide it with into four pieces in order to make what you could call a 4-hit combo (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right, etc). As of yet, it’s just a toy. No real reason to use it, I suppose… Then, there is http://sirmxe.netlsd.com/anim.php, which will turn a series of images you provide it (inside of a compressed i.e. zipped file) and use the delay and image size you provide in order to generate an animated image. It’s a pretty fun toy I guess. And now, on the less practical side of things, there is also: http://malformedxmlelement.com/txt2img, just an experiment I have been working on on converting text to images. Go ahead, go on and type something in. In that same neighbourhood, I also have http://sirmxe.netlsd.com/col/text.gif, http://sirmxe.netlsd.com/bnw/text.gif, and http://sirmxe.netlsd.com/exp/test.gif, all of which generate sequences of randomized colors, etc, using the text you provide to it as a random seed (i.e., the name of the file before the .gif). Also applicable to those specific url’s, if you put a directory structure in between col|bnw|exp such as col/300/300/text.gif, OR col/300×300/text.gif, it will use that to determine the size of the image. Pretty fun, no use for it yet though. Also, just for more funsies, here’s this: http://sirmxe.netlsd.com/convert.php. Pretty simple web page, convert between hex encoding and back; also, base64 for funsies. And then, finally, I have http://code.google.com/p/webformgenerator/ and http://code.google.com/p/m3ucreator, two projects that I have undertaken recently. The first is a script that will generate an HTML form based off of a database and tabel that you provide to it (mysql of course), and the second, just a simple script to create an m3u playlist from a directory you feed it. Perhaps with time, I might be able to come up with more things to do. In the mean time, time to live. It’s good to be back. Aloha, |
