Teleos (A Composition)

Sitting around, there isn’t quite much to do nowadays. So, I guess one really has to look to find something interesting to do to pass the time. So, why not post a blog entry? In any case, I was mulling over  project that I’ve been working on for AP Music Theory, a composition, and I figured, eh, why not post it?

The world can hear! Haha. Anyways.

So far, it consists of three parts: Piano (treble and bass), and classical guitar. The harmonic progression consists mostly of just the I (actually, i) chord being repeated over and over, with some cadential points, such as when it shifts to iv then V then back to i, or when it goes deceptive from V to vi. The composition itself is in 5/4 time, D# minor (one of my favourite keys nowadays), and heavily inspired, so it would seem by the baroque era. The main rhythmic motif in the song happens to be, as it would appear, a series of dotted quarter followed by two sixteenth notes. Though, it sort of shifts in points, such as in bar 7 with the pedal tones.I think I will end up using more of those. In any case, I can go on talking about it all day… or I can just post it. Second option seems easier, let’s do that!
