Salutations, all you who come here. I am known by the name Malformed XML Element, or mXe for short.
This is just a little about me page to let you know exactly who I am, assuming you want to know.
I, first and foremost, am a computer scientist. Nothing in this world makes more sense to me than
these wonderful computing machines. I'm fluent in multiple programming languages, my two big ones
being C++ and JAVA, and I have experience with essentially every major modern scripting language, from
PHP, to Python, to Ruby, and whatever have you. I am an advocate of the Free and Open-Source standard,
especially when it proves that quality software can be made by those who have produced it for free. It's a
wonderful bit. I am also an advocate of Linux, though I figure that would be quite obvious. I am currently typing
this on a Windows Vista machine, and yet, I do not feel turned away by this. I don't understand why people
make such a big deal over Windows. Of course, they are criminals in so many respects, but hey, at least it
runs. Somewhat. The main reason I am using this is because my EEE has tiny keys, and I am not in the mood to
be typing there. My personal favourite distributions are PCLinuxOS, MEPIS, and DSL; my favourite branch would
be Debian. Well, I think I've covered that enough, for now...
Second, one of the more obvious qualities about myself, according to some, is that I am a poet. My large
collection of poems in
prosody will attest to this fact. I have over 160 poems, I believe it is,
backed up here to share. I may not be the best, but I enjoy what I do to no extent. It allows me to express myself
when I find myself short of words. On the off-times when I can't write poetry, I also from time to time just write.
Essays, stories, whatever my mind allows me to write, I find myself scribbling down. Or, in the case of computers,
I'm typing away. I just have to get it all out, you know? I feel I'll go mad if I don't.
Third, I am a musician. While maybe not the best, I focus on more experimental styles of music when it
comes to naturally played music. I've played the guitar for two years now; I currently own four guitars,
and I find myself diddling around on them constantly. I also own a violin, an ocarina, and a drum machine.
The only thing I really need now is a keyboard and I'm set as far as having a band goes. Haha. Anyways.
I also do a lot of experimenting with making electronic music, which led to my persona as mXe. As mXe,
I am what some may call a nerdcore rapper. That is to say, I rap under a sub-genre of hip-hop that is
referred to as nerdcore, the basis of which is, well, extremely nerdy stuff, from DnD, to core dumps,
all the way to sonic the hedgehog, who knows? It's about having fun. I also, from time to time, just
produce random music. For instance, one of my most recent productions outside of this nerdcore business
was my EP, the
Tranced Out EP. My main motive for music is that it is a very expressive art,
and, well, I just have immeasurable amounts of fun with it. It's what you make of it.
Fourth: I am a spiritual person. I believe heavily in new age ideals, from the concepts of astral projection,
to the ideas of chakras, and all that lies in between. I'm very interested in this sort of ideal. It gives me more
meaning in this world. Something that makes me feel like there's a reason to not just sit around all day. Who knows.
This section is going to be cut short because there isn't much I can say about it right now without sounding just
completely insane. Haha.
Well, that pretty much wraps up everything for me, as per who I am, what I do, and all that.
There probably is
much more, but I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.
Peace.
